Clearwater Threshers
The National League East Phillies play their spring training games at Bright House in March and April. In addition to a state-of-the-art stadium, fans who attend the games there enjoy such other frills as a Tiki Bar and a playground.
The Threshers boasted their best season ever with an attendance of over 170,000 for the 68 home game season that ended in early September, 2009. The new record continues a trend that began in 2005 when the team moved into its new Bright House Stadium. Their new stadium is kept busy year 'round, hosting many corporate and non-profit events.
The field also will host the upcoming Big East finals in 2010 and 2011, with teams from such outstanding schools as USF, Notre Dame and Louisville competing to be in the final eight when the games are played in Clearwater.
